Product Description

Styrene Acrylic Emulsion RG-B20014

Main ingredients: water dispersion of n-butyl acrylate and styrene copolymer
Physical and chemical indicators: Appearance: Milky white liquid
Ionicity: Anion
P H value: 7.5~9.0
Viscosity (23ºC): 3000~5000 mpa.s
Solid content (%): 50±2
Minimum film forming temperature: 20ºC
Performance characteristics and uses:
This product is a medium viscosity, fine particle size water-based latex, no formaldehyde component. Possess excellent pigment and filler compatibility and bonding ability. When there is no pigment or filler, it can form a transparent, shiny and elastic film, and has excellent water resistance and anti-saponification properties.
Nano-grade styrene-acrylic emulsion has the characteristics of strong adhesion, waterproof, weather resistance, good gloss retention, and fine particle size after film formation.
Widely used in interior and exterior wall coatings, high-grade latex paints, relief coatings, concrete protective coatings, primers for masonry substrates, leveling putty, modified silicate coatings, and water-based anti-rust coatings (used Anti-rust pigment type: zinc chromate, strontium chromate).

Packaging and storage: 50 kg or 130 kg plastic drum sealed packaging.
This product must avoid contact with iron, copper, aluminum and their alloys.
Protect from exposure and freezing. Store at room temperature, the shelf life is six months.
Modified Styrene Acrylic Emulsion RG-B20014 Manual
Production Process:
If you use high-speed equipment (such as high-speed disperser) to produce coatings, it is recommended to add enough dispersant (such as dispersant WS-25B, etc.) and wetting agent to pre-disperse pigments and fillers in alkaline medium. If you are using a low-speed mixer, especially when producing high-viscosity products (such as relief paint and leveling putty), you should first put the latex and additives into the mixing container before adding the pigments and fillers.
This product has good pigment and filler compatibility and bonding ability. The restricted pigments are only those that are difficult to wet, such as carbon black, calcium sulfate, and zinc oxide. The latter two may cause a significant increase in viscosity. The addition amount of pigments and fillers can vary within a relatively large range, depending on different uses (internal or external walls), performance requirements (such as gloss, elongation, wet scrub resistance), substrate type, and used The amount of binder for pigments and fillers (oil absorption), etc.
Latex paints based on this product usually need to add thickeners. Suitable thickeners include medium-viscosity or high-viscosity cellulose ethers, polyacrylic acid, polyurethane or bentonite, and polysaccharide thickeners. Different choices depend on different leveling requirements or thixotropy requirements of different products.
A small amount of film-forming aids should be added in the preparation to ensure smooth film-forming at temperatures below 20°C. Applicable film-forming aids include glycol ethers or their acetates, solvent oils containing aromatic groups, etc., which can be used alone or in combination. Usually the maximum amount of film-forming aids can account for about 2% of the total coating. Lower alcohols and glycols are not suitable for use as film-forming aids, but can improve the frost resistance and wet edge properties of the formulated coatings. Because local flocculation may occur, it is not advisable to directly add high-concentration solvents and thickeners to the latex. It is best to mix them with the pigment paste in advance or dilute with water before adding them.
Mixing this product with some softer latex can make the coating obtain better elongation.
The final product can be colored with color paste or prefabricated dark paint. Since coloring may cause water separation and flocculation of pigments, compatibility and storage stability tests should be carried out. Non-ionic surfactants can also be added to solve such problems. Adding a small amount of thickener (such as thickener RG-HB302) can improve the storage stability of interior latex paint with high pigment and filler content produced with extremely high hardness water, and it can also make the equipment easy to clean.
Like other fine particle size latexes, this product has a tendency to foam. Therefore, it is necessary to add defoamer according to the proportion recommended by the manufacturer (usually 0.3-1%), and the defoamer should be added in advance.
The effectiveness is tested.
Although microbiological measures have been taken for this product, it is still necessary to add preservatives to the finished product to ensure long-term storage stability, and the compatibility and effectiveness of the preservatives should be tested in advance.
Due to the influence of many factors (such as the compatibility of components, the mixing process and the adhesion requirements to different substrates) during the production and use process, it is impossible for us to fully involve these factors in our own experiments, so the production plant has It is necessary to develop coating products based on this product based on self-test. The test should include testing the stability of product viscosity at 50°C.
